Reflecting on Exponential 2011
As I write this I am sitting in the Orlando Airport waiting for my flight back to Long Island. I foolishly booked the late flight to Islip, and have a little time to kill before the Capitals and Lightening play at seven this evening (I will be able to catch the first period before my 8:25 flight boards). As I watch people wander through the terminal I have been thinking back over the past few days at the Exponential Conference.
I enjoy being at Exponential. I enjoy the buzz of energy and excitement from thousands of church planters that are hungry to head out into the field and expand the Kingdom. I love hearing the stories of planters and those who are supporting planters, and I love to reconnect with those that I consider to be partners in spreading the gospel in this country.
The sessions were solid, but to be honest I doubt I will remember any of them. What I will remember are the conversations that I had with the teams from Church Community Builder and Generis; discussions with Todd Rhoades and Dave Travis; and seeing how a love for the church drives guys like Derrick Jeror to start Housetop Media.
I am coming away from the past few days excited by what God is doing through the church planters that I met, but also by those that are rising up to support the church planting movement and the church as a whole. Great things are happening!
Were YOU at Exponential? What did YOU think?
