Forbidden Pastoral Words for 2013

Every year Lake Superior State University publishes its list of words that need to be removed from the English language. In this edition of Ministry Briefing Todd and I discuss which words need to be removed from the church vocabulary in 2013. What would YOU add?

Over the last fifteen years I have been a Church Planter, Youth Pastor, Executive Pastor, and now I serve as a Church Concierge with churchsimple.net. I love Jesus, my wife, the Redskins and Capitals and am currently living on Long Island striving to properly pronounce the word G'island.

A few suggestions (some of which will be more difficult than others for me personally)
    -authentic
    -revolution
-controversial (this is word doesn’t tell me anything about content, only other people’s opinions/hype)
-literally (when used incorrectly/figuratively..as in, “That literally blew my mind!”)
-liberal (unless in description of the degree in which you like to spread butter on toast)
-pragmatist (used in a derogatory way)

I could go on..but that may not be beneficial ;-)
