The way we did it was to plant as a team. There were two of us in leadership from the very beginning, and we were committed to doing it as a team.

For those that aren't able to have a team of planters, there needs to be a high priority placed on developing a solid core of people who are committed to the vision and mission of the church, and are willing to sacrificially invest in the plant.

Keep in mind that high priority does not mean find them as quick as possible... it means that you need to spend however long you need to to find the right people. I also might suggest that you not move forward until you have that core in place.

Does that make sense?

Matt, in terms of that team approach to leadership how does that look in a church plant. How does the primary planter include others while keeping quality high and the message/vision uniform?

Ben, your thoughts on community, small groups, and leadership are offered in fresh ways with wisdom. I have been looking into small groups on the web and your blog is one of my favorites. I would love to see the new curriculum (ccaren@aol.com), if you don't mind sharing. Thanks.
