Come and Adore Him or Christmas is Coming!
It is hard to believe that Christmas Eve is only five days away.
As you rush from party to party, event to event, and program to program my prayer for church leaders is that you will have the opportunity to stop, exhale, and adore Him. We know that the busyness of the season can get in the way of our being able to truly celebrate it… many of you who are reading this may have preached on that last week. While we are good at encouraging our congregation to slow down and remember why we celebrate, we get swept up in the rush of making sure the reindeer arrive for the children’s ministry, the musicians know their cues, and the facility we are renting for our Christmas programs is set up just so.
The idea that rest comes in January is convenient, but regrettable.
Sometime in these next five days take the time to turn off the smart phone. Soak in wonder the wonder of what this season means with your family and friends, and be joyful in the triumph of our God. Take the time to behold Him, the one who came to take away our sins, and reflect on what it must have been like to see the Word in flesh appear on that happy morning so long ago. Come, adore Him… Adore our God, adore his son, and the work that was done on our behalf so many years ago.
Enjoy the celebration of Christ’s birth!
How are YOU celebrating the birth of Christ this year?
